The specialist for earthmoving machines
HBM-NOBAS GmbH now operates under the name GP Günter Papenburg Maschinenbau GmbH. The company GP Günter Papenburg was already founded in 1963 in Hanover and is today active in many areas of the construction and recycling industry. Within the complex structure of GP Günter Papenburg, HBM-Nobas is the specialist for earthmoving machines such as motor graders and excavators. The company's machines, which are in demand worldwide, are still sold under the HBM-NOBAS brand name.
At the beginning of the 1990s, the graders of the East German company NOBAS from the town of Nordhausen in Thuringia were successfully marketed by BOMAG GmbH from Boppard in Rhineland-Palatinate. For Bomag GmbH, the BG series loaders were a sensible and, at the time, necessary addition to its own range of road rollers. Also shortly after the fall of communism, the former nationally owned company Hallesche Baumaschinen, or HBM for short, from Halle an der Saale in Saxony-Anhalt merged with NOBAS, another former nationally owned company. In 1993, the merged company HBM-NOBAS was bought by GP Günter Papenburg.
The four-wheel drive and tandem drive graders sold all over the world now bear the type designation HBM-NOBAS BG. In total, GP Günter Papenburg Maschinenbau GmbH offers seven different graders with all-wheel drive and six different graders with tandem drive. TEREX Corporation, one of the most important US manufacturers of construction machinery from Westport in Connecticut, offers graders of the same type as GP Günter Papenburg Maschinenbau GmbH under license, but sells them under the name TEREX Grader. The construction machinery manufacturer TEREX is also present worldwide and also in Germany.
